An Ambulance Service, Tailored For Your Needs

A-TEC Ambulances are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to cover all of your transportation needs. We operate both Advanced Life Support Ambulances and Basic Life Support Ambulances. When you call our 24 hour dispatch center we will assist you in determining which vehicle will best meet your needs.

All of our ambulances meet KKK specifications and are licensed with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and inspected annually. In addition to being licensed with IDPH, we are certified with local Emergency Medical Systems.  As you explore, you will see that A-TEC uses only the best, up-to-date equipment for patient care.

The back bone of A-TEC’s fleet is the Moduvan by Wheeled Coach. Wheeled Coach has been a staple in the ambulance industry since 1968 when they introduced the first van-type ambulance.

The Adward winning Bariatric Ambulance 52 is a very unique ambulance and only A-TEC operates such a vehicle in Northern Illinois. This ambulance was designed and built by Wheeled Coach from the ground up for the propose of transporting Bariatric patients weighing in excess of 500 lbs.
Ambulance 52 has many features that keep it in compliance with the
Department of Transportation including; a heavier frame, extra suspension, and
improved braking. These give Ambulance 52 improved and safer handling
while transporting bariatric patients.

Ambulance 52 also has additional patient care equipment that make for a safer transfer. A-TEC uses the Stryker MX-Pro Bariatric cot which is 6 inches wider than a standard cot for a more comfortable transfer. Ambulance 52 utilizes the HoverMatt to effortlessly transfer a patient from a flat surface to our bariatric cot. With Ambulance 52’s ramps extended, we can pull the bariatric cot in the ambulance with the use of the Warns winch. This prevents the chance of a drop and injury to our patient. This ambulance was built for the safety and comfort of our bariatric patients. Only with A-TEC Ambulance.

A-TEC Ambulance has recently added the Zoll E-Series patient monitor and defibrillator to every Advanced Life Support ambulance in our fleet. The Zoll E-Series monitor is one of the first cardiac monitor/defibrillators designed solely for field EMS use. The Zoll E-Series monitors much more then just cardiac rhythms, it also monitors a patient’s blood pressure, SpO2 levels with pleth wave form, and

Endtidal Co2 output with wave form. Other features include 12 lead ECG and External Pacing. With the advancement of acquiring 12 Lead ECG in the field, A-TEC can more rapidly alert the emergency department of a serious cardiac emergency and get our patients the definitive care they need. Only A-TEC Ambulance offers advanced 12 Lead patient monitoring on every ALS Ambulance. Only with A-TEC Ambulance.

The Stryker Power-Pro Ambulance Cot is the newest in patient transferring
technology. The Power-Pro is similar to our trusted Stryker MX-Pro with exception
of one great new advantage, power and lots of it. The Power-Pro operates
on a Dewalt 24 volt rechargeable battery pack that drives a hydraulic
piston to lift a patient weighing up to 700lbs at the push of a button.
While helping to reduce back injuries to ambulance personnel the
Power-Pro also greatly reduces the chances of a patient being injured
due to a cot drop while onboard. The Stryker Power-Pro is the safest method of moving a patient; both for our ambulance crews and our patients. Only with A-TEC Ambulance.
