A-TEC Ambulance, Inc. is a proud sub-contractor of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). As a member, A-TEC will be called upon to respond and provide medical support to major natural and manmade disasters. We have received assignments ranging from evacuating whole hospitals to providing a first aide station in shelters during the disaster. Over the last six years, A-TEC has been called on and responded to three major disasters, Hurricane Rita, Gustav and Ike.
Understanding the unique position that A-TEC is in, we have
developed a complete self-sufficient team with the ability to perform without the day to day amenities for an extended period of time. The team is equipped with support vehicles and a trailer to provide temporary shelters for the crews during the disaster. A-TEC intends to send a minimum of five ambulances to the next disaster including two critical care ambulances and one specialized bariatric ambulance with the ability to update all our rigs to be advance life support as a minimum level of care under national standards. A-TEC also intends to send our support vehicle and trailer.
