Ambulance Services

A-TEC Ambulances are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to cover all of your transportation needs. We operate both Advanced Life Support Ambulances and Basic Life Support Ambulances with the capabilities of transporting patients who require the use of I.V. pumps and ventilators during transport. When you call our 24 hour dispatch center we will assist you in determining which vehicle will best meet your needs.

One of our core beliefs is delivering the highest quality care to any transport that we accept.  We accomplish this by making sure all our ambulances meet and exceed the guidelines established by the Illinois Department of Health.  Our ambulances are inspected annually to ensure they exceed the expectations of the local Emergency Medical Systems in which they operate under. As you explore, you will see that A-TEC uses only the best, up-to-date equipment for patient care.

Our entire fleet of ambulances, with the exception of our bariatric unit, features the Stryker Power Pro cot. This cot is similar to our trusted Stryker MX-Pro, but with more power.  The Power-Pro operates on a 24 volt rechargeable battery pack that drives a hydraulic piston to lift a patient weighing up to 700lbs at the push of a button. While helping to reduce back injuries to ambulance personnel, the Power-Pro also greatly reduces the chances of a patient being injured due to a cot drop while being transported on it. The Stryker Power-Pro is the safest method of moving a patient; both for our ambulance crews and our patients.

Basic Life Support

Our fleet contains multiple Basic Life Support Ambulances. These ambulances specialize in returning patients from hospitals and transporting patients to and from skilled nursing facilities, treatment centers, and doctor offices. A-TEC treats these calls with the same importance as a life threatening call. Our crews understand that when a patient is transported in an ambulance, it can cause a lot of stress to that patient and our crews will attempt to make every transport as stress free as possible.

  • Advance Life Support Ambulance

    Advance Life Support Ambulance

Our ambulances are all equipped with equipment that is not only state of the art, but also been proven to hold up in the tough elements our crews might work in. Other than the Stryker Power Cot and Stryker Pro Stair Chair, each Advance Life Support Ambulance is equipped with the Zoll E-series cardiac monitor that has 12 Lead acquiring and transmitting features and can monitor End Tidal CO2. Transmitting the 12 Lead ECG has shown significant impact on the time it takes emergency rooms to cardiac catheterization. Each rig has a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) device that is able to deliver the highest concentration of oxygen with being minimally evasive.

    Critical Care Transport

A-TEC Ambulance has trained staff and equipped a number of our ambulances to have the ability to accommodate interfacility transports that require IV Pumps and ventilators. Working with local ems systems A-TEC Ambulance, Inc. has helped design, educate and monitor the use of these pieces of equipment to ensure the patient will always receive the best possible care. This has proven to provide the highest level of care for any patient when the need to be admitted to a higher level of care facility while maintaining the current level of care.
  • Bariatric Ambulance

    Bariatric Ambulance

Unlike most bariatric ambulances in northern Illinois area, A-TEC's bariatric unit started with a fresh design incorporating a stronger floor structure in a larger weight capacity vehicle that allows the vehicle to remain within Illinois Department of Transportation requirements. Inside the ambulance was built with safety and comfort in mind. The main piece of equipment is the Stryker MX-PRO Bariatric Transport Cot which boasts an extra six inches of space compared to our normal cots. Like every other true bariatric unit, A-TEC's Bariatric unit has a specialized ramp and winch system. The HoverMatt is another piece of equipment added to our bariatric ambulance that allows our crews to move our patients to and from the cot with one tenth the effort while maintaining the highest level of comfort and safety.
